First, I want to open up the week with some photos to get everyone fired up. The snow pictures were taken Saturday morning at Eldora. The snow cover varied, but was between 3 and 6 inches everywhere. I have never seen such cold, powdery snow this early in the fall. Hopefully it is a sign of what is to come. We were up there for our Saturday morning training group followed by some trail work. Apparently the snow scared off all of the skiers because we had two coaches and one athlete.
Sorry about the quality, I only had my phone to take pictures.....

And completely off-subject, but an exceptional shot that is worthy of sharing: this one is of Paolo Bettini wrapped in his country's flag on the podium after he won cycling's World Championship Sunday. A picture is worth a thousand words and this one doesn't need any of mine to get it's point across. http://www.velonews.com/slideshow.php?article_id=10928&image_id=16515&dir=/images/int/
Thanksgiving Camp details are available here. We should have final confirmation about meal plan pricing and lodging discounts at Devil's Thumb early this week and we will post on-line registration as soon as we have that information. Call or email with any questions; 800.380.5048 (720.227.9400) or info (AT) bouldernordic.com.
We are also in full swing with the fall session of group training for Team Boulder Nordic Sport. We have put together a great schedule of 4 workouts per week through Thanksgiving with some fun special events that will prepare us well for winter physically and technically. Info and the schedule are available here.
We have nearly sold out of our Fischer Carbonlite allotment for this year. Fischer has limited production capacity on these new skis and they are bringing in fewer than 1000 pairs to the US. Demand has outpaced this by far and it looks like Fischer is working hard to provide a late production run of these so that we may get a few more pairs in January. We have a handful of skis left in our allotment before we will have to start putting people on the waiting list for what will hopefully be December/January delivery of this second production run to ship to the US.
We will be starting to ramp up some hours at our retail location inside Boulder Cycle Sport this week. I will be at BCS Wednesday, Sept 27 1-7PM, Friday 2- 6 and Saturday 12-5pm. Our inventory is building quickly, but mostly I'll be there to test skis, fit people for hand-selected skis and talk to people about stone grinding. Feel free to drop off skis any time BCS is open (M-Th 10-7; F 10-6, Sa 10-5, Su 10-4). For more info on stone grinding see our ski service page. And info on hand-selected ski fitting is here.
Only two weeks until we open doors for full operation October 9th.
