We had 55 pairs of skis ready for heat boxing, so we loaded up the Behemoth and turned it on. We had 3 temperature sensors placed at different locations around the box in addition to the temperature controller sensor which is placed right above the heating element.
It took 45 minutes to get the skis warmed up as 55 pairs of skis at a chilly 5 Celsius suck up a lot of heat. Once the entire box was up to temperature at 50C, it held the temperature very well and the fans did their job keeping the temperature consistent throughout the entire box within 1.5degrees C.
It is great being able to do so many pairs of skis at once and I think we can get one or two more rows of 7 pairs of skis if we adjust the shelf height. This will be a great asset to have up in West Yellowstone during Thanksgiving week when we expect to have very large batches.
It seems like winter has arrived early and I have heard reports of people skiing all over the state and around the country. I hope that it is a sign of the winter to come.
