Don't Get Caught Unprepared!
When you go out for a ride, what do you bring with you? No matter your riding style, we strongly recommend carrying a multitool with you so you can do something about those minor repairs while you're still out on the road or trail. Multitools are small and easy to carry in a pocket, saddlebag, or backpack and can be used to fix everything from a flat tire to a bent derailleur.
Plus, nobody likes the person on the group ride bumming tubes, parts, and tools off of everyone else! Look for a tool with all the basic Hex and Torx bits found on your bike plus a chain tool at the very least. The CrankBrothers M20 pictured here also includes a removable tire plug kit, allowing you to fix flats on tubeless tires with ease. Stop into either of our Boulder locations and ask our staff about options when it comes to these important pieces of gear.

Why Bike Gloves Matter
Bike gloves can be a topic of debate in the cycling community, but we think that in general, a good pair of riding gloves can totally change your experience on the bike. The main benefit of wearing gloves for any style of riding is grip. Hands get sweaty (especially with the weather we've been having in the Front Range lately), rain happens, and suddenly you don't have the same grip on your handlebars that you're used to. That can lead to blisters, chafing, and maybe even a crash.
For road biking and commuting, lots of people like a fingerless bike glove, like the Hestra gloves pictured here. They can keep your hands a bit cooler than full-finger gloves and are often padded on the palm, absorbing some of the chatter from the road and giving you a more comfortable riding experience during those long road rides or commutes.
For mountain biking, full-finger gloves can be nice as they offer a bit more protection during a crash, or when you accidentally punch that pesky tree on the inside of the berm. Yes, they can be a little warmer than fingerless gloves, but we think the extra protection usually makes it worth it.
The most important thing for you to consider when you pick out a pair of gloves is the fit. You want something snug that won't move around on your hand, so you avoid those pesky palm blisters, and something that will suit the riding conditions you usually find yourself in. If you do a lot of riding when it's hot, consider fingerless gloves for their exceptional breathability. If you spend your days at the bike park, get something with a little padding and full fingers to protect your hand in a crash. We have tons of options in our North and South Boulder locations, so stop on by and check out our selection of bike gloves in the store or online!

A few weeks ago, we highlighted the Scott Spark 940, a do-it-all downcountry/ light trail bike built to tackle all types of terrain. This week, we'll take a look at the 940's big brother, the Spark 900. With the same geometry as the 940, the 900 features upgraded components on every level, from the full carbon frame to the wireless XO1 Eagle drivetrain to the carbon Syncros handlebars.
This bike was built to be light enough to pedal up even the steepest fire roads but burly enough to get back down. The TwinLoc Suspension System gives you three different options when it comes to the suspension and geometry for this bike, one for descending, one for technical climbing or rolling terrain, and one for steep, smooth climbs. We have the Spark 900 available at both Boulder locations, so stop in to check it out today!
We've expanded hours at both our North and South Boulder locations for the summer! Both locations are open 9 AM to 5 PM all weekend. Boulder Cycle Sport North will open at 8 AM every Wednesday for service drop-offs and hang out after the Wednesday Morning Velo Ride. Stop by or give us a call today!
