Shipping policy

Boulder Nordic & Cycle Sport ships via UPS and USPS, with options to arrange other carriers upon request. We ship from our locations in Boulder, Colorado and Portland, Maine.

Processing Times

We strive to ship orders the same day they are received. Please note:

• Service work (binding mounting, pole cutting, stone grinding) increases lead time
• Bike packing may take several days
• For time-sensitive orders, contact us to select the best shipping method for your delivery deadline

Free Shipping

Orders over $100 qualify for free ground shipping within the Continental US, excluding oversized items and bikes.

Important: Free shipping is not available outside the Continental US. If you receive free shipping and later return items that bring your order total below $100, the original shipping cost will be deducted from your refund per our return policy.

Standard Shipping Rates

Standard shipping rates apply to orders under $100 and non-oversized items. Rates are calculated at checkout based on your location and the carrier and service you select.

Oversized Items

Oversized items include skis, poles, pole tubes, wax tables, and other bulky items (bikes have separate rates below). Each pair of skis and poles counts as one item.

Continental US:

• Ground: $35 first item, $5 each additional (max $59)
• UPS 2nd Day Air: $100 first item, $15 each additional (max $180)

Alaska:

• USPS Priority Mail: $60 first item, $25 each additional (max $100)
• UPS Ground: $175 first item, $15 each additional
• UPS 2nd Day Air: $200 first item, $15 each additional

Canada (prices in USD):

• UPS Standard: CAD $80 first item, $20 each additional (max $160)

Bike Shipping

Bikes ship via UPS Ground, fully insured with adult signature required.

• Continental US: $250 flat rate for sale bikes and bikes $4,000 or under
• Bikes over $4,000 (non-sale): Free shipping
• Alaska, Hawaii, and US territories: Contact us for a shipping quote

Flammable & Hazardous Items

Certain liquid wax products and solvents are classified as hazardous materials and require special handling:

• Shipping method: UPS Ground only (USPS does not accept hazardous materials)
• Alaska restriction: UPS does not ship hazardous items to Alaska

If shipping to Alaska, ensure your cart contains no hazardous items before checkout.

International Shipping

We ship to Canada and select other countries via UPS.

Important for international orders:

• You are responsible for all brokerage fees, duties, taxes, and customs fees
• We cannot ship items marked as "gifts"
• UPS is preferred for international shipments due to reliability concerns with USPS International
• See oversized item rates above for shipping skis, poles, and bulky items to Canada

Packaging & Sustainability

In our commitment to the environment, we reuse boxes and packing materials whenever possible to reduce waste and save you money. If you prefer new, unused packaging, please indicate this preference in the order notes at checkout.
