'24-'25 Product Updates: Madshus
Boulder Nordic & Cycle Sport Staff
Big changes are afoot at Madhus for 2024-2025, some more visible than others. Madshus's penchant for out-of-the-box thinking and product innovation keeps the brand relevant and competitive while remaining distinctively unique.
The most significant development for next year is the SkateX system, developed in partnership with Norwegian binding manufacturer Rottefella. From what we can tell so far, SkateX will be a big deal. Currently exclusive to Madshus boots and NIS-plated skis, the system shows the potential for significantly improving skating performance and could give racers a tangible advantage over those using a more traditional setup. SkateX isn't the only new thing at Madshus, though. The updated Race Series of skis (Redline, Race Pro, and Race Speed) feature enhanced design elements and material upgrades. Of particular note is the reinforced Power Edge design, a direct response to customer feedback, which offers a more durable edge compared to the previous 90-degree angle prone to damage. The new Race Series also boasts a 10% strength improvement and up to 15% weight savings compared to previous models. A final note on next year's skis: the naming convention for Redlines (1.0, 2.0, and 3.0) ends. The 2024-2025 model is simply Redline.
Madshus boots are also getting an update for next season. In addition to updated Redline boots, the all-new SkateX boot enters the lineup. The SkateX is built on the same RED Carbon Chassis as Redline but features the SkateX outsole, compatible only with the Rottefella SkateX binding. But that's not all! Madshus has an entirely new line of boots aptly named after their most distinct feature: the BOA Fit System. This innovative system, featured in the all-new Skate Boa 2 and Classic Boa 2, offers a micro-adjustable, precision fit throughout the boot, ensuring maximum comfort and performance. The upper portions of the boot utilize the same Madhus Pro Ripstop fabric of the Redline series and the same Madshus Elite outsole as the Redline series.
Next season will be significant for Madshus across a broad range of higher-performance categories. SkateX will lead the way (don't forget to pre-order your boots!), but there will be so much more! Stay tuned...
